Guiding People to an Identity Rooted in Christ
New Here?
First Baptist Church of Camdenton has been a spiritual home for families in the Lake of the Ozarks area since 1908. We are a warm, Bible-believing congregation where you'll find genuine friendships, faithful teaching, and people who truly care about you and your family.
We gather each Lord's Day at 10:30 AM for worship, preaching, and fellowship. Coffee is ready when you arrive, our greeters will help you find a seat, and there's no pressure — just come as you are. We'd love to meet you and your family.
We are an elder-led church that treasures sound doctrine, practices believer's baptism by immersion, and is committed to the faithful proclamation of God's Word. Whether you've walked with Christ for decades or are only beginning to explore, you are welcome here.
Plan Your VisitThe Lord's Day
Expositional preaching through books of the Bible, applying the whole counsel of God to everyday life. Expect about an hour of worship, singing, and teaching.
We sing together as a congregation — hymns old and new, rich in theology and full of praise. You'll hear the whole church lifting its voice.
Our children's area uses a secure check-in system with background-checked volunteers. Your kids will learn Scripture in a fun, safe environment while you worship.
No dress code, no pressure. Coffee is in the lobby, our greeters will show you around, and you won't be put on the spot. Just come and be welcomed.
The Preached Word
We believe God has appointed the preaching of His Word as the ordinary means by which He saves sinners and sanctifies His people. Each Lord's Day, Pastor Cody Harlow opens the Scriptures book by book, verse by verse, bringing the text to bear on the life of the church.
All of our sermons are available on our website so you can watch or listen anytime.
The Good News
The gospel is not good advice but glorious news. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
The living God is infinitely holy, just, and good. He created all things for His glory and upholds all things by the word of His power.
All of humanity stands guilty before God, dead in trespasses and sins. We are by nature unable to save ourselves and justly deserving of His wrath.
But God, being rich in mercy, sent His Son to bear the penalty we deserved. Christ lived a sinless life, died as a substitute for sinners, and rose triumphant from the grave.
God commands all people everywhere to repent and place their faith in Christ alone. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — to the glory of God alone.
The Life of the Church
The Christian life was never meant to be lived in isolation. God calls His people into a covenant community where we grow together in grace and truth.
Sundays at 9:00 AM. Small groups studying Scripture together, bearing one another's burdens, and stirring one another up to love and good works.
Nursery through 5th grade with secure check-in, trained volunteers, and age-appropriate Bible teaching your kids will love.
Equipping fathers and mothers to be the primary disciple-makers in their homes, raising children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
From greeting on Sundays to serving in the community, there are meaningful ways to use your gifts and get to know people.
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you."
John 15:16 ESV
